Termination of contract within 1 month
Dear Sir,
I signed my contract on 21 Apr, permanent full-time employment contract with 3-month period of probation. Contract stated that I will need to give 2-week notice after resign.
Assuming I resign tomorrow (20 May), which is inside the first month of my probation, may i leave my employer with immediate notice regardless the statement of 2-week notice in the contract I signed?
Given my monthly salary at there is 30,000 HKD, may I know how much payment I should get from this job?
P.S.: Finance department insists I need to work for that 2-week notice period, or deduct 2-week salary from my payment. Is this true? Which one should I follow, The Employment Ordinance or The Contract Laws?
